A few summers ago, while I was in Bali, I Hibiscuswas introduced to hibiscus tea. They offer it as a welcome drink in all the hotels and restaurants. They made it fresh, plucked a few flowers, pummeled them in a glass, poured some hot water over them, added a squeeze of lime and served it over ice. I remember how refreshing it was. It’s ruby red color and tart flavor is reminiscent of cranberry juice. High in iron, vitamin-C and antioxidants it helps boost the immune system while it assists the kidneys in flushing toxins. It’s natural anti-inflammatory properties are just one of many added benefits. Brew up a pitcher today and enjoy this cleansing beverage.
